This is the first pre-war bike I ever acquired. I just loved the crusty paint and wanted to leave it as-is. It had wood pedal blocks and Morrow hubs, I've been told its a Colson, probably late 1930's vintage? I finally put it together with part's I had laying around. The wood pedal blocks we're too far gone so I used some red ones to complement the red grips and fenders...

1920 Harley Davidson Bicycles Catalog
Saturday, November 20, 2010
I got to see this bike and talk to the owner, it was simply called "Grandpa's Motorcycle". A 1930's Snyder, his Grandpa bought it new and later added the Evinrude "Speeribike" motor. He actually had it registered as a motorcycle in Oregon and rode it to fires as a volunteer fireman. Eventually the family moved up to Washington and the bike was put in the basement where it sat for 60 years, Grandpa had coated it with Cosmolite, a wax like rust preventing product. The current owner, Roy, still rides the bike and is trying to decide weather to restore or leave it as-is. Either way, an amazing piece of americana...Enjoy...
PS. The black and white's are family photos from when the bike was new, check out that sidecar!
